I first received this and the shock mode did not work. I called the company and they sent a replacement right away. So far so good. The vibrate mode at first stop my dog from barking. Then she got use to it so I went to the shock mode. So far so good. This was the only one small enough for my 6 lb. Toy Poodle.

Works great for my 10lb dogs, mostly I just use the vibrate setting but that seems to work better than other vibrate collars I had I think because the studs for the shock vibrate also. Only issue is you got to keep the remote with you and be ready to push it to correct them right when they are being bad - still that is better than those bark collars that go off on accident all the time and makes the dog confused
